A degree holder in Business Administration, Arthur Conrad Kisitu is the proprietor of The Portrait Home Limited. A Graphic designer, poet, dancer and full time photographer, Arthur is believed by many to be one of Uganda’s forerunners in the art of contemporary photography. Self-taught in this era of digital photography.
An adventurer, Arthur has the ability to play with the elements of a picture without taking away its naturalness. His liberal but distinctive approach has marked the beginning of a new breed that paints with the camera. At first glance his picture strikes a chord in the mind of even the least interested viewer.
Without losing the mood and character of his subjects he displays an unusual ability to capture rare moments.

Sweet Home Uganda (SHUGA), a charity initiative sponsored by the Portrait Home Limited reaches out to children, especially the orphaned.
Inspired by Godly passion, we would like to demonstrate that arts are not just a thrill in our lives but a vital tool through which we are opened to God’s holistic knowledge and purpose for our lives.
The use of photography and visual arts to raise awareness especially on the plight of the orphans is an idea I birthed in 2003 while thinking about my role as an African man faced with the challenges in the world today.
With this attitude I set out to use my skill to reach the unreached and attempt to transform communities. If you would like to partner with us in this noble cause, you can participate by hosting, and also sending the word out about our monthly exhibitions. You can also contribute financially where your finances will be used to cater for materials and other clerical services needed to conduct our ongoing awareness monthly exhibitions. You may also provide anything else, as led by your conscience: clothes, computers, shoes, bags, cameras, books, toys, anything – we need it all!!

Due to the highly competitive nature of commercial photography, we don’t put our prices on the “open shelf”. However, you can get our best price on your project. You’ll get top notch commercial photography at a fair price with the service and respect you deserve.
However, if your intent is to find the cheapest price for your photography–we’ll unashamedly admit that it won’t be us. Our clients know we are never satisfied with our work until the client is satisfied
We also welcome propositions for trades and exchanges of services. If you have a product or service that you’d like to offer in trade for commercial photography, please contact us.
Employees
The Portrait Home employs freelance assistants on an as-needed and as-available basis. Freelance assistants work as independent contractors, and are not considered to be employees of The Portrait Home. The Portrait Home does employ photographers in shooting positions. We do however hire freelance photographers as independent contractors on a per project basis.
Internship Opportunities
The Portrait Home offers qualified university students an unparalleled opportunity to work along side photographer Arthur Kisitu in an intensive internship program.
The Portrait Home internships are unpaid and require interns to be completely self-supporting. All on-the-job expenses are paid by The Portrait Home.
Consultancy
Arthur Kisitu is available for consultations with both beginning and established professional photographers and studios. Now you can put Arthur’s extensive photography experience and respected marketing survey to work for you when you book a personal on-site business evaluation.
Arthur can help you iron-out even the most troublesome technical problems as well as evaluating your marketing strategies and business plan. And what if you don’t have a marketing strategy? At the conclusion of Arthur’s consultation you’ll have a custom-fit marketing plan designed for your long-tem success as a professional photographer.
Consultations are booked at the rate of 50,000 Uganda Shillings per hour, with two hour minimum for consultations outside the Kampala City area. Travel expenses are not included.
All consultations include complimentary follow-up telephone consultations.
Each consultation also includes a booklet of the plans, strategies, procedures and advisories generated during your consultation for your easy reference.
